Internet Security and Acceleration Server 2006 is a security gateway that helps protect an organization's IT environment from Internet-based threats while providing its users with fast and secure remote access to applications and data.
Core Functions: ISA Server 2006 helps IT managers, network administrators, and information security professionals in the following key areas:
- Securely publishing content for remote access: By preauthenticating users before they gain access to any servers protected by ISA Server, inspecting even encrypted traffic at the application layer in a stateful manner, and providing automated publishing tools, ISA Server helps to provide security for an organization's applications accessed over the Internet.
- Connecting and securing branch offices: Organizations can use ISA Server as a gateway to connect and secure their branch offices, efficiently utilizing network bandwidth. By providing features like HTTP compression and site-to-site virtual private network (VPN) capabilities, ISA Server 2006 provides a cost-effective way to securely expand and manage networks.
- Defending against external and internal Web-based threats: ISA Server's Web access protection can help organizations protect their environments from internally and externally originating Internet-based threats. With a hybrid proxy-firewall architecture, deep content inspection, granular policies, and comprehensive alerting and monitoring capabilities, ISA Server makes it easier to manage and protect networks.
Licensing and Installation: This is a license for running ISA Server 2006 software on one processor. An additional license is required for each additional processor. The processor license allows access to the server by multiple devices: no client access licenses are needed.
Installing this product requires a licence key and installation media. Within 14 days of placing your order, instructions for obtaining the licence key will be sent to your organisation's registered e-mail address and free installation media will be delivered to your organisation's registered address.
- Under the Software Assurance program, customers acquire the right to install any new release of products covered in the agreement during the term of their coverage.
- Easy-to-use wizards facilitate configuring site-to-site VPN connections and connections to SharePoint and Exchange servers.
- Flood resiliency protects ISA Server 2006 from being permanently unavailable, compromised, or unmanageable during a flooding attack.
- Users can be authenticated using built-in Windows, LDAP, RADIUS, or RSA SecurID authentication. Forms-based authentication is available for all published Web sites.
- Link translation enables creation of a dictionary of definitions for internal computer names that map to publicly known names so that these references do not appear to external clients as broken links.
